Lodge Development

The picture shows the general view of the Lodge in its original state. You can't really see the undulations in the roof in this picture, but the whole front roof was redone as part of the project.
This became the kitchen.
The bar needed more light. |
This was opened up to make the reception area. |
We removed the ceiling to make a roomy salon and made the old animal feeding troughs into benches. |
The lodge was gutted, the doors reworked, a number of internal walls were demolished and new doorways made inside.

Once fitted with a new and (nearly) rainproof roof, the first floor, of concrete mixed with little polystyrene balls, was squirted in through a window.
After the new roof windows and doors, the plasterboard walls could be fitted.
Then the insulation for the underfloor heating |
Then the underfloor heating pipes
When the floor is ready, the tiles go down |
With the floor in and dry the stairs can go in...
...which means that the flooring can go down. |

And after the terraces are down and the stonework repointed, we can begin to landscape the outside.
