Le Domaine des Hallais
Le Domaine des Hallais has been specially designed to provide high quality accommodation at a moderate price for groups seeking a special place to get together.
You book the entire site as a single group, and all of the facilities are reserved exclusively for you. These include the two large activity rooms; the dining room, sitting room and bar area; the gym, gardens, and pool. Two Yamaha pianos, an upright and small grand, are available for your use. We provide the catering.
We are organised to welcome both business and holiday groups. The venue is ideal for groups of friends or families taking a vacation in the area, or for celebrating a special event such as a birthday or wedding anniversary with a house party. For an activity-related break, examples include music teachers' courses, miniatures workshops, painting and language classes, drama groups, yoga club trips, rock-climbing, fishing , cycling and walking. For company events, sales training meetings, language courses, team-building evenets, management 'away-days' or customer hospitality events centred on the Le Mans races are among the possibilities.
We have seven bedrooms each sleeping 3-4 people in comfort, and each with en-suite bathroom facilities. We can set up the activity rooms for crafts or business conferences, for performing groups or a disco; one activity room is also available as overflow sleeping accomodation for up to 6 people using folding beds.
Exclusive use
We usually only take one group at a time, so your party will have exclusive use of the grounds and facilities. English-owned and managed, the proprietors live in separate accommodation on site and provide all catering services. There is ample off-street free parking on site.
Flexible catering arrangements
We can provide full board catering (including wine with the 4 course evening meal) for all groups. Alternatively, you can choose either B&B only or half board (breakfast and dinner. Meals are usually served family style with buffet lunches and some BBQs, weather permitting. Packed lunches can be provided if required.
Tea and coffee making facilities are available at all times to guests, and for conferences, if delegates are not staying overnight, we can provide a package of morning and afternoon tea/coffee and lunch with wine. More information is available by clicking here.
Beautiful rural location
Le Domaine des Hallais sits on the side of a gentle valley leading down to the river Erve and is surrounded by farmlands in a quiet rural location. Despite the 'away-from-it-all' feeling, we are easily reached by car, rail and/or air, and arrangements can be made to transport guests arriving by public transport.
Many local activities and attractions
For those on holiday, for a break from your main activity, or to amuse spouses and families not participating in courses, there is plenty to see and do in the area other than stay by the pool. Mont St Michel, the Normandy coast, and many of the Loire Valley chateaux can be reached in a day trip, and the Le Mans racetrack and car museum are less than an hour away by car. Nearer to home there are pleasant walks along the nearby river, and many low-key but interesting places are within walking distance. Directly on site, we operate a small miniatures museum with a collection of more than 40 dollhouses and room box scenes, as well as some miniature teddy bears. Facilities for disabled visitors
All main communal facilities (dining room, sitting room, pool and one conference room) are accessible by wheelchair and we have a specially adapted bedroom that can sleep up to four people, on the ground floor. There is also a wheelchair-accessible toilet near the dining room and another near the pool. There is a conveniently placed parking space for disabled visitors adjoining the paved terraces that connect the two main buildings with acess to the museum over a hard surface of compacted gravel.
Pets
For the comfort and security of other guests (including future guests) who may be allergic, pets are not admitted into the buildings or accepted on site.
