Le Domaine des Hallais is located in the countryside, and therefore there are not a lot of shops nearby. The nearest small grocery shop and bakery is in St Jean sur Erve (5km, 10 mins by car). This incorporates a bakery and sells chocolates made on site. It is closed Mondays and Sunday afternoons.

A larger supermarket, the Shopi in Vaiges has a good range of items including toiletries, local maps and wines and now incorporates the post office and has a small petrol station. It is open 8AM to 8PM Mon through Saturday and Sunday mornings, but closes at lunchtime. There are also a good pharmacy, a bank with ATM, a butcher and a baker in Vaiges but little in the way of other shops.

Thre are a couple of bigger supermarkets on the outskirts of Evron, which also has other small shops, banks, a post-office in the town centre. Meslay-du Main also has a Super U supermarket on the outskirts, a post-office, bakers, banks, etc and a small Friday morning market. For more comprehensive shpping it is necessary to go to Laval or Le Mans.

In the town of Sainte Suzanne there are a couple of shops selling a range of gift and souvenir items including many hand-made products with a medieval theme. There is also a bakery, a small supermarket and a small beer brewery and a post office (open only 9-12 Mon-Sat).

And here are some other shopping opportunities that will take you off the beaten track to some places and artisans that you might not otherwise find. In addition to these as if you tour around the area you may come across numerous farms selling their produce, such as home-made cheese, honey, or cured sausages.

Organic bread. Distance 1Km. Laurent Gourdin runs the bakery at St Pierre sur Erve, "le Fournil du Cèdre", the Cedar Bakery. He uses organic, stone-ground flour and a wood-fired oven to make the most delicious bread. You can stop in and watch him at work on 'baking days' and buy a loaf from his small on-site shop (Opened 2009)
Crafts2 Evron market and town Distance 18Km; 20 minutes by car. This Thursday morning market in the heart of Evron is a great way to relax, explore and shop. It also offers a perfect start to a sightseeing day out.
Crafts at Bernay Distance 33Km; 30 minutes by car. This old water mill has been turned into a small craft centre where you can find many kinds of unusual hand-made, high-quality, gifts and souvenirs.
