About Le Domaine des Hallais

Le Domaine des Hallais is an old French farm with just over 4 acres of land, located in the Erve Valley in the department of Mayenne. It was purchased by the current owners in April 2005 with a view to renovating it to create a holiday centre for groups.

The ensemble comprises three main buildings and two outbuildings. The first building, the House, is the owners' private residence. The second and third make up the gîte accomodation: the Lodge houses the kitchen, dining room, bar, reception and lounge on the ground floor, and three bedrooms above, and the Grange (a former barn) houses the swimming pool, fitness room, activity room and five further bedrooms. The first outbuilding has been converted into a storage area for fuel for the wood-fired heating system, and the second was divided into a boiler room and a dollhouse museum (Mayenne Miniatures). The majority of the buildings are believed to date from the 19th century. The House was renovated by previous owners in the 1980s and the other buildings were rebuilt and refurbished between September 2006 and May 2008.

The owners acknowledge, with grateful thanks, support for the development of the Lodge and Grange from the Conseil Régional des Pays de la Loire, the Conseil Général de la Mayenne and ADEME as well as our current advertising partners.
