Evron market

Evron market is on Thursday mornings. It starts early and goes on until about 1:00 when all the stallholders pack up for lunch. You will find fruit, vegetables, plants, meat and fish of the highest quality, as well as other items such as clothing, jewelry, kitchen utensils and so on. Much of the vegetable produce has been grown locally and is being sold by the person who planted, grew and picked it.

The market is a great opportunity to chill out with a coffee, or do a bit of shopping and socialising. It is right on the square in the town centre, by the basilica, so you can do some sighteeing as well. Don't miss the tourist information office either, as they will have good information about current events in the area.

Use the big, free, open-air car park near the market; it always seems to have plenty of spaces. We can show you where it is on the map. Most of the other on-street parking is marked out in blue, indicating that you need a special timer disc, available in the big supermarkets for a few euros, to indicate when you arrived and how long, therefore, you can stay for: best avoided.

The town of Evron also has a some shops in the centre (jewelry, clothes, shoes, books, flowers, pharmacy, bakeries, etc.), a Champion supermarket, banks and a post office. There are also some big chain stores on the outskirts of town including large Super U and Intermarché supermarkets if you forgot any daily essentials, or want to stock up on some of the French delicacies like tins of 'confit de canrd' or bottles of wine!

Allow at least half a day for a good leisurely explore.
