The museum of the 24 hours race at Le Mans

Ferrari Dino

If you are using Le Domaine des Hallais as accommodation for any of the Le Mans 24 hour races or other motorsport events, a visit to the museum at the Le Mans racecircuit as part of your stay, is a must. It is also of interest to anyone with even a passing interest in cars and there are some scale models of the track on display as well as other dioramas.

The museum houses an extraordinary collection of cars, tracing the history of motoring from the very earliest models, to the present day. There is emphasis on the vehicles that participated in the famous 24 hour race and 15 winners are on show. However the collection is by no means confined to participants in this event. There are over 100 cars in total, and the Ferrari Dino shown above is just one of many sports or saloon cars that you can also see. There is also an adjacent shop selling a wide variety of race-related souvenirs including clothing, books and posters.

The museum is closed in January and February (except during the French school holiday periods) and on Christmas and New Years. There is an admission charge. For complete information about the museum, please visit their website by clicking here.
